Fife Self Help Service
Our Self Help Coaching Service helps people in Fife affected by mental health issues.
Our Self Help Coaches support people aged 16-64 who are experiencing mild to moderate mental health issues such as anxiety, stress, low mood, lack of motivation and depression.
What do we do
Our service uses evidence based techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to raise awareness of the positive impacts self help material can have. Working in partnership with NHS Fife, our experienced coaches support you to identify the steps you need to take to maintain good mental health.
We also run a Carers' Self-Help Project which provides support for carers of children, young people and adults who are on the autistic spectrum.
How we can help
The focus of the support is to raise awareness of self help materials and approaches available and to assist and encourage service users to access and use these materials to maintain, sustain and prevent deterioration of their own health and wellbeing. Where appropriate, service users will be signposted to other agencies.
Service users will be supported to recognise the steps they need to take to maintain good mental health, therefore reducing the requirement to attend their GP or other health provider services.
