Homeless young people find home sweet home

Young people from LinkLiving’s new residential service welcomed Link and City of Edinburgh Council staff into their new homes this week to find out about the service over a hot drink and a cupcake.

The five homeless young people have recently moved into the Link Housing tenancies in Gilmerton, Edinburgh.

Visitors were impressed with the high standard of the flats, which have been delivered through collaborative working between LinkLiving, DAAM and Link Housing.

LinkLiving is supporting these young people to gain the skills required to manage a tenancy and move towards positive outcomes in life.

The young people are already taking part in a range of creative and social activities and engaging with LinkLiving’s employability services.

The project, which is funded by City of Edinburgh Council, builds on the success of LinkLiving’s SOYA (Supporting Our Young People) service, which supports care experienced young people.

We hope to follow the young people’s progress with the service as they settle into their new homes.
