Fife Carers' Self-Help Project
Our self-help project provides support for carers of children, young people and adults with autistic spectrum conditions.
It is common for carers to be affected by stress, anxiety or low mood as a result of providing emotional and practical support to someone close to them.
What do we do
Our service offers up to six, free one-hour 1:1 coaching session, teaching techniques to help you manage your stress better. It also offers group sessions.
We use an approach which takes into account how stress makes you feel, think and behave, and deal with the associated physical symptoms. This is called Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, or CBT.
How we can help
The focus of the support is to raise awareness of self-help materials and approaches available and to assist and encourage carers to access and use these materials to maintain, sustain and prevent deterioration of their own health and wellbeing.
