Trauma Informed Practice

Who is it for? 

This workshop will benefit anyone in the workforce to gain an understanding of trauma and consider how to respond in a trauma-informed way.  

What will you learn? 

The basic knowledge and skills to help develop trauma-informed ways of working.  


What does this session cover?

Participants will:  

  • Understand trauma and exposure to traumatic events  
  • Learn the effects of trauma and the potential impact on quality of life  
  • Learn the Principles of trauma-informed practice  
  • Consider helpful and unhelpful responses when dealing with disclosure  
  • Reflect on creating a trauma-informed environment  


How is it delivered? 

This is a 3.5-hour session and can be delivered face-to-face or online. All sessions involve a mix of thought-provoking content, group discussion and interactive activities to cater to different learning styles.    

 

Where is the course held? 

We deliver our open courses from our training venues located in Edinburgh, Fife, or Falkirk.
