Managing Expectations and Reducing Barriers

Who is it for? 

This workshop is aimed at professionals seeking to navigate this sometimes tricky area of practice by exploring the issues that can create unintended misunderstandings and difficulties. We consider the barriers people face and learn strategies for building mutually beneficial relationships where people can work together effectively.  

What will you learn?

During this workshop, you will gain practical tools to manage expectations and reduce barriers with individuals you support and work with.  Participants a cknowledge the importance of setting clear expectations and boundaries whilst meeting individual needs. 

Participants will:

  • Explore expectations and how to manage them  
  • Consider patterns of behaviour and reasons for them  
  • Consider barriers for individuals accessing services and ways to reduce those barriers  

The session covers:  

  • Where expectations come from  
  • What is expected of you?  
  • Habits, social norms and what the patterns might tell us  
  • Barriers  
  • Practical strategies to reduce barriers  

How is it delivered? 

This is a 3-hour session and can be delivered face-to-face or online.  All our sessions involve a mix of thought-provoking content, group discussion and interactive activities to cater to different learning styles.    

Where is the course held? 

LinkLiving Skills Academy delivers across Scotland both online and face-to-face. We can deliver training at a venue of your choice* or we can organise your session at one of our training venues located in Edinburgh, Fife, or Falkirk. All our venues are modern and easily accessible and suitable for all your training needs.  

How much does it cost? 

£450 per workshop Max 15 participants
